The Atkins diet

Let�s start with the all-famous Atkins diet.

I�m sure everybody has heard of one of the latest fads in the dieting world, that�s because of the flood of articles praising the extraordinary results of the Atkins diet, not to mention good mail from satisfied customers.

What's so unique in Atkins diet? It lets you eat high-fat dairy products, even cheese and butter, the biggest thing in favor of this diet.

However, not everything is so smooth with tha Atkins diet! It has the suspicion of increasing the risk of heart diseases, not to mention the people complain about diarrhea, weakness, muscle cramps and rashes.

I've to outline here that the debate over the safety and scientific fundamentals of this diet is still raging.

 

 


The Zone diet

Another well known eating plan is, the brainchild of Barry Sears Zone diet. The diet is promoting eating the right mix of foods in order to reach the proper hormonal balance. The "Zone" is the state of balance, that lets your body take in calories and use them during the day without putting anything aside as fat.

However, even this diet does some serious discrimination among foods without any scientific basis. This diet restrict eating of Starchy vegetables, whole grains and beans. The American Heart Association warns the dieters about the Zone diet as it lacks essential nutrients while promoting high-protein foods.

 

 


The Jenny Craig diet

The next on list is The Jenny Craig diet which by the way is the longest running diets.

The diet has been around since the early 1980s. This diet offers you convenience of not to choose recipes, no shopping and even no cooking needed... just order and buy the Jenny Craig prepackaged food.

It's not a cheap option as it runs to some $100 a week, the membership costs and also you have to pay for fruits and veggies, as they are not included in prepackaged food.

Can you afford it? Then you got lucky and you can try stick to it.

If you buy similar low-calorie foods at the nearest grocery store then you can save money and you don�t have to discuss with a Jennie Craig expert who insist on your eating the prepackaged food because he gets a percentage of the sale price.

 

 


The South Beach diet

Now, Get ready for the South Beach diet coming from sunny Florida!

Unfortunately the wrong approach of the diet isn't is supporting by the right idea behind the diet.

You see even though this diet works and a lot of people have managed to lose weight with this diet, still the question is: if can you really stick to this diet?

The problem is that 1st phase of this diet will completely remove the carbs from your eating plan.

And this phase lasts 2 weeks. The 2nd phase returns the whole grains and fruits into your eating plan. � as long as necessary.

The meaning is that, if reaching the desired weight takes you 1 year, then this phase is going to last exactly one year.

Don�t like the foods allowed by this diet? Sorry, you�re out of luck!

Unfortunately, there are no alternatives!

 

 


The Weight Watchers diet

The Weight Watchers diet is another dieting program that has been around for some time.

This diet plan is actually one of the best diets out there because it puts all the management tools in our hands. While you are armed all needed information, you just need to be really committed to losing weight and you WILL succeed. The best thing is that you can find that a lot of people who are going through the same thing are going to be there to help you.

Since having company and people that motivate you during difficult times helps your willpower, then most likely you will lose all that extra weight.

On the other hand, you find that you don�t like the idea of being constantly under peer pressure, then this diet is definitely not for you.
