There is probably no place in the world where people want to be thin and fit more than Hollywood, California, the capitol of glamour and cool. It is a constant battle between parties and photo shoots to always look your best. There are many popular diets in Hollywood depending on your aim. Are you seriously overweight and need to shed twenty or thirty pounds? Or, do you just want to detoxify your system for 24 hours? Some diets are fads and possibly unhealthy if followed for too long, and some are balanced low calorie diets with plenty of exercise and the promise of long term weight loss.
Popular diets in Hollywood include fad diets, low carbohydrates and glycemic index diets, low fat and low calorie diets, quick weight loss: detoxifying diets and juice fasts. Some fad diets make sense and are worth trying for a few days. Some are simply silly and could cause serious illnesses. If you eat fewer calories than you burn you will lose weight. Lets say, if you only eat ice cream or chocolate or peanut butter, that’s fine if you burn more than you eat, although alone these are not healthy and need to be consumed with other foods. There are also blended drinks that claim to have all the nutrition you need; you can drink only these drinks, you must eat nothing. My strong advise would be: you should consult a doctor before trying anything like this.
Low carbohydrates and glycemic index diets are also popular diets in Hollywood. Some of them are famous, such as the Atkins Diet and South Beach Diet. They focus on protein and greatly reduced carbohydrates. This forces the body to use glycogen, from the muscles and liver which is stored with water, to obtain glucose. As the glucose is used, water is released and excreted. This appears as weight loss. These diets have been shown to be unhealthy in the long term. The body needs glucose. There are low calorie and healthy ways to eat carbohydrates, for example, whole grains, which take more calories to burn. This will make your weight loss healthy in the long run.
Low fat and low calorie are popular diets in Hollywood. Vegetarian and raw food diets come in this category. The American Heart Association also has a no-fad diet review that wants the public to seriously change the way they eat to make a positive change in the lives of seriously overweight people. Following a fad diet may work for a few pounds, fast but will not make a lasting change in your life.
The most popular among the popular diets in Hollywood is the one used on the TV show The Biggest Loser. It is sensible, combined with exercise, and something everyone can do. It can be personalized to the needs of the individual and is highly motivational. It’s all right to want to be as thin as is healthy for you, but be careful how you achieve it. There are so many different diets available; all you need is to be sure they will work for you.
