Pregnancy Hormone Diet Review – Can HCG Help You Lose Weight?

My Pregnancy Hormone Diet review quickly reveals what hCG really is. The main concept of the program is to “trick” the brain into thinking you are pregnant, triggering the brain to send nutrients and fats to the placenta versus other parts of your body. This will inadvertently increase your body’s metabolism and help you lose weight. This idea was first introduced by Dr. Simeons in the 1950s but has recently been reintroduced by the controversial Kevin Trudeau and other weight loss professionals.

The major part of this plan includes daily injection of hCG or hormone Human Choriogonadotropin, which is the hormone that is produced naturally in women during the beginning part of their pregnancy.

So how does it work with weight loss?

Great question!

The hCG is the hormone that motions the brain to send nutrients and fats to the placenta. There are three separate phases to the Pregnancy Hormone Diet including:

The loading phase The maintenance phase The stabilization phase

The loading phase only last for 2 days while the remaining two phases last for 21 days each.

Along with injections, you must adhere to a very STRICT 500 calorie a day diet throughout the length of the diet and up to seventy-two hours after you receive your final injection. (NOT for everyone!) Sugars, sweets, fruits and processed food are absolutely forbidden. Some doctors claim that the presence of the hCG hormone will keep the body free from in inefficiencies caused by such a lower calorie-intake diet. However, most professionals agree that a B12 injection should be taken in conjunction with the Pregnancy Hormone Diet to protect your health.

Although this drug is approved by the Food and Drug Administration, it received its approval as a fertility drug NOT a weight-loss drug. There has been some side effects reported as a result of the hCG injection including:

headaches blood clots depression

It’s very important to mention in this Pregnancy Hormone Diet review that the “diet” has been an extremely CONTROVERSIAL one, with advocates on both sides of the issue:

Pro: Proponents contend that the Pregnancy Hormone Diet plan is safe and causes no harm to their patients. They report that their clients lose 1 to 3 pounds every week and that they are able to keep it off even after the injections and strict diet phases are over. Con: Those against the plan state that the extreme low calorie intake can be detrimental to your body and they believe the weight loss is only due to the lack of food and not due to the plan.

If you should decide that the Pregnancy Hormone Diet is the right one for you, there are some things that you should be sure to consider. First, you should only complete this plan under direct supervision of your doctor and you should have regular scheduled visits throughout the entire 6 week treatment phase. This will allow your doctor to keep checking your weight loss and how it is affecting your body to eliminate the chance of harm done. You should also follow the recommendation of the many doctors and include the B12 injection in your plan to help with any vitamin deficiency that might come with the diet.

Lastly, as I always stress, losing weight needs to be looked at from a HEALTHY approach. Getting a realistic and long-term plan going that you can stick with, and get the kind of results you can be proud of.
